It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Headington Festival. This decison has been taken in response to the current Covid-19 crisis.

What happened at the last Festival

A grand RAFFLE will be running up to and during the Festival with the prizes of £100, a trial glider flight, annual passes to the Botanic Garden, and more! Draw on Sunday at 4:30pm.

On Saturday from 10am until 2pm the Saturday Festival and the Weekly Market in the London Road will buzz with a variety of craft and food stalls. To make it even more special there will be music,  a choir, a balloon artist and a  caricaturist to entertain and educate with a special section for children that will include face painting and a petting zoo.

Later, on Saturday in Bury Knowle Park from 3pm the Round Table will host the late afternoon and evening’s events. There will be a  bar (Real Ale, Gin, Soft Drinks, Hot Food) with local musicians  to get the evening going and then, starting at 6pm, the first of TWO FREE FILMS – at 6pm we will be showing Ralph Breaks the Internet PG and at 9pm Black Panther 12A .

On the Sunday we expect thousands to come to Bury Knowle Park between 1pm and 5pm. The Sunday Festival is a bit like a village fete with stalls, food, drinks, sports tasting sessions and a funfair. There  will be farm animals for children to get up close to and learn about,  entertainment from dance groups and musicians and the ever popular Colonel Custard with his magic and circus tricks (with a chance for children to participate). Entry to the festival, the farm and  all the events in the entertainment area is FREE.

A very exciting event is the children’s photography competition in local schools in the lead up to the festival (organised in conjunction with Science Oxford).  Prizes will be awarded in the Sunday in the Park and we look forward to proud children (and their parents) being rewarded for their creativity and effort.

We hope that everyone will come again this year and support those who have put so much effort into showing that Headington is a  lively and fun place in which to live work and study.
